We are nearing the end of January! Are you still sticking to your 2018 resolutions? Setting goals is a little bit daunting and sometimes hard to fulfil. However, it doesn’t have to be complicated either.
Before setting any goals, make sure you are in the right mood. It will give you a good headspace before establishing what you want for 2018.
Keep It Simple.
Remember: Baby Steps. If you have a big goal, maybe break it down to an achievable level. For example, if you want to run a marathon – maybe start off with a 10K or half marathon first. Make it manageable.
This is perfect if there is something that you want to give up, but think you might find it difficult. For example, if you want to cut down on sugar – maybe start off by giving up chocolates but still be able to eat other alternatives.
Make it Public.
Sharing your goals makes it more likely to happen. Let it be known by your nearest and dearest about your resolutions and this will help to keep you accountable. Go all out and share it on Social Media!
And when you have achieved a goal, go and treat yourself. You deserve it! This will motivate you to complete your other resolutions.
Here are some of my goals for 2018: (Now, I really have to do it!)
- Take a month off social media.
- Run a 10K race.
- Master a Yoga Inversion (apart from Headstand).
- Read a Book, and actually finish it. (Children’s Fairy Tales are not included).
- Go on a course and learn something new.
If you wanted to change something in your life, NOW is the perfect time to act on them.
