Hello my lovelies! I am very anxious, but beyond ecstatic to share with you the official page for my blog. I have always had a secret desire of starting one but never had the confidence to make it happen. So, I finally carved out the time and figured, if not now, when? Here goes nothing!
Who am I?
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Cheska. I’m a Nurse, Yoga Teacher and a Mother. I am half Filipino and half Spanish. I have been living in London for the past 10 years.
Up & Personal
The reason why I have started blogging is because I wanted to share my thoughts about life. I enjoy reading other peoples’ blogs and I like how a lot of them are relatable. I too want to inspire others, so most of my blogs will be based on personal experience. It will be honest, raw and unfiltered.
What to expect from this Noob Blogger?
I must admit, I am not your typical yogi. I eat meat, I still haven’t nailed meditation and I can just about to do an inversion. But that’s why yoga is great because there is no standard way of doing it and the practice itself is personal to YOU. Yoga is a journey, and I will be sharing my moments and passion for it here.
Health and Wellbeing
These two come hand-in-hand. I like to compliment my yoga with other forms of exercise. I cycle and I occasionally run (not very good at it though). I’ve tried Pilates, Barre, Climbing, HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and Boxing. I enjoy trying out new ways of sweating out. Even if it means hopping from one London studio to another (and use up every affordable introductory pass. Lol).
I also try to practice Mindfulness and Meditation. These help me with my mental state. This is my ‘me’ time. A time to reflect and understand what my mind and body are going through. I find Meditation difficult. It’s one of those things where if you try very hard, it won’t happen. You just have to let it come naturally.
Here is where I share with you what I have been up to, to improve my wellbeing. I’ve learned that it’s not how I look on the outside, or how I weigh, but rather it’s about how good I feel on the inside.
Apart from being a newbie blogger, I am a newbie Mother! It’s the toughest job in the whole world but I wouldn’t have it any other way. When my son Liam came into this world, I felt so confused (and overwhelmed with love), I didn’t know what I was doing. Why don’t babies come with an instruction manual? Here I will share with you my experience, tips and frustrations on being a Mum. Hopefully, this can be a platform where I can meet other Mums too.
Lifestyle is a major factor to someone’s holistic wellbeing. The more positive you are, the more you feed this energy in your life choices. I am still making my way to becoming the happiest and healthiest version of myself. I will be trying to make slight changes in my life – like practise minimalism (this one is going to be hard), eat a LOT healthier or even pledge to be spontaneous. (Spontaneity increases endorphins, did you know?). Whatever it is, I would like to share these life changes with you and get an opportunity to connect with each other.
I really hope that this is something you’d want to be a part of. A space where we can all relate to real life experiences. From smashing that first yoga inversion, to mindfully finishing a personal project, to calmly deal with your toddler’s tantrum or to trying out that healthy avocado on toast at a hippie cafe. (Seriously, what happened to avocado just being a fruit and not being so popularly Instagrammable? Lol.) Wherever you are in your life right now, remember that someone else is going through the same as you. And that someone would most probably be me. 🙂
Let me know what you think Lovelies.
